Endoscopy is a type of minimally invasive surgery that uses an endoscope. An endoscope is a long, thin tube with a camera attached to the end. We use specialised types of endoscopes for different procedures, allowing us to perform effective, precise surgeries that result in less pain and a shorter recovery.
Laparoscopic surgery is a procedure your child’s doctor uses to avoid major surgery and a long healing time after surgery. For this kind of surgery, the doctor inserts small, hollow tubes, called cannulas, through small slits (incisions) in your child’s skin.
